From day one, I knew the new TXi would allow me to push the limits. Without any interruption from the wakes, the TXi allowed me to continue to gain cross course direction when approaching each buoy.

Regina Jaquess//Malibu Water Skier

Malibu’s water ski athlete, Regina Jaquess, has disrupted the world of water skiing once again. Monday, July 16th, 2018, Regina set a pending world record behind Malibu’s Response TXi at the Isles of Lake Hancock Ski Club. This private lake in Winter Garden, Florida has witnessed many great runs by world renown skiers, now topped off by Regina’s new pending record.

December 7th, 2016 marked a memorable day that everyone thought would remain. The International Waterski and Wakeboard Tournament Council had officially announced that Regina Jaquess’ world record had been approved. Her current standing record was achieved being Malibu Response TXi at a tournament on November 5th, 2016 where she ran three and a half buoys at 41’ off (10.25m). After it had finally been approved, Regina told Malibu, “I am very excited about the approval of the new world record behind Malibu’s TXi. From day one, I knew the new TXi would allow me to push the limits. Without any interruption from the wakes, the TXi allowed me to continue to gain cross course direction when approaching each buoy. I’m super excited about this boat and the future it brings to the sport.”

Having this remarkable world record was a huge accomplishment for Regina, yet she never settled. Now, less than two years later, she has proven ground-breaking once again. Same lake, same boat, but a new record for Regina. July 16th, 2018 Regina was skiing at the Isles of Lake Hancock Ski Club when she ran four buoys at 41’ off behind Malibu Response TXi, setting an all new pending world record.

The original Malibu Response TXi is a legendary ski boat, pulling pro riders to 10-- now pending 11-- world records. The three-finned T-Cut Diamond Hull creates astoundingly soft, flat wakes, and the TXi’s laser-like tracking and precision handling enable it to pull with incredible consistency, nothing less than what ever record-setting skier needs. There’s no better pair than a Malibu Response TXi and a world record-setting skier!

Malibu could not be prouder of all the hard work and record-breaking dedication that Regina has put into water skiing. The anticipated record will hopefully be approved soon to go into the history books. Awesome job, Regina, keeping breaking records!
