The waters of the mighty, muddy Mississippi River were the proving grounds for the world’s best wakesurfers once again for the 2018 10,000 Lakes Open!

The Malibu and Axis brands were well representing amongst the ranks with dozens of amateur riders sporting their decals, as well as Malibu team athletes Jordan Wolfe, Cassidy Gale, and Stacia Bank and Axis ambassador Austin Keen on hand to wow the crowd. A jumbotron on site and a live webcast via Facebook Live helped keep everyone in the action regardless of being at the event or at home.

Host dealer Minnesota Inboard, also an event partner, had boats on site for customers to see the new 2019 models and features from Malibu Boats. Their classically styled 22 LSV turned heads, while their azure blue 24 MXZ stunned passersby with its unique color combo.

On the water, in the shadow of the Minneapolis skyline, many first time competitors and amateurs had their best runs thanks to the M235's giant, powerful waves created by Malibu’s patented Surf Gate and Power Wedge technology. Once it was time for podiums Malibu’s Stacia Bank and Cassidy Gale landed in the 2nd and 3rd spots respectively in pro women’s surf style. Stacia also took home the Axis “Best Trick Invitational” with an indy frontside transfer.

We’re already looking forward to next August and the 2019 10,000 Lakes Open!
