The second leg of the 2017 Malibu Evolution Pro Series brought the best world’s best professional wakesurfers and wakeboarders to the beautiful Danube River in Vienna, Austria. The large crowd enjoyed the festival atmosphere, which included a DJ, games and food vendors.

Meanwhile, the world’s best watersports athletes ripped up the water behind the Malibu M235, the industry’s highest performing and most luxurious watersports towboat featuring the world’s biggest wake.

Malibu and the World Wake Association partnered with the local Ohana Vienna Wakesurf Club to bring the Evolution Pro Series to Europe for the first time. Markus Lahmer and the entire Ohana Vienna crew rolled out the red carpet to the international field of athletes abord their fully loaded Malibu M235.

Working with Sport Avantgarde, the region’s exclusive Malibu and Axis dealer, Ohana Vienna has ruled the waters of the Danube with the M235 since the towboat debuted in 2016. Markus and the Ohana crew are helping grow recreational and competitive wakesurfing throughout Europe, powered by world’s foremost ultrapremium watersports towboat.

As the weekend progressed, Malibu’s Massi Piffaretti, a native of Lake Como, Italy, was intent on entertaining the European audience.

“I’m so excited to be able to have a Malibu Evolution Pro Series event in Europe,” Piffaretti said. “Having the M235 as the official towboat of Evolution Pro makes it even better, because it gives me the opportunity to deliver my best performance.”

Piffaretti trains behind the M235 when at home in Orlando, Fla., so he has plenty of experience with the towboat’s massive and perfectly sloped wake.

However, it was another Malibu athlete, Minnesotan Stacia Bank, who claimed a top podium spot at the end of the weekend. Stacia also trains behind the M235 and put together an impressive wakesurf run that earned gold from the judges.
